After the adaptation of globalization policy, India's BPO (Business process outsourcing) Industry has grown tremendously in terms of revenue and employment opportunities. BPO is a form of outsourcing involving the contracting of the operations and responsibilities of a specific business functions to a third-party service provider. The trend came for the reason that western developed economies wanted their work done by cheap laborers in third world countries e.g. India, Philippines, Sri Lanka, etc.
Whereas, BPO earlier was associated with manufacturing firms, such as Coca Cola wherein large segments of its supply chain was outsourced to third parties; lately, some sophisticated processes have been transferred to various companies operating in developing countries. The USP of BPO jobs is that companies offer comparatively handsome salaries besides lucrative facilities and opportunities to grow.
